Discharge Successes

Because of the trauma of being abused and neglected by their parent or adult caregiver, children referred for Therapeutic Foster Care services have extreme difficulty following the instruction of authority figures and have complex social, educational and mental health needs. Despite these overwhelming challenges The Villages' heroic foster parents and social workers assured that 72 percent of the 428 children discharged in 2007 went to a more independent environment.

Stability

Research emphasizes the importance of foster placement stability in improving education and developmental outcomes. The outstanding stability in The Villages' therapeutic foster care program helps our children become successful because they feel safe and secure in a home with caring and loving adults who provide experiences for them to grow self-sufficiently.

Total of Children and Families Served

The Villages serves more than 1,300 children and their families daily, making us the largest child and family services not-for-profit agency in the state. The dedication and commitment of The Villages' staff is driven by their amazing passion - caring for children. We are committed to ensuring that every child will flourish in a healthy, nurturing, self-sufficient family.
