The Villages' relentless commitment to tracking and utilizing program outcomes spans more than twenty years and is a foundational element to the agency's quality services. In 1991, The Villages released one of the first child welfare follow up studies in the nation, Caring for Troubled Children. Funded by Lilly Endowment, this cutting-edge document tracked over 200 youth who had been served through family model group homes of The Villages and identified program strengths, opportunities for quality improvement, and successes of the youth served.

The agency was also one of just ten organizations nationally to participate in the Child Welfare League of America's Odyssey Project from 1995 to 2003, documenting and reviewing the needs of children in The Villages' statewide Therapeutic Foster Care Program.

The Villages has provided continual leadership and participation in the IARCCA Outcomes Project for therapeutic foster care and transitional living. As the largest provider of data for the IARCCA project, The Villages has constantly enhanced the agency's services to abused and neglected children---all in dedication to helping each child achieve success and self-sufficiency!

The Villages is aware of the unique and complex needs of today's children and their families. This makes it even more imperative that the needs of children are bolstered one child at a time. Then, and only then, can we achieve the dynamic, positive results that every child deserves. Your gift helps The Villages continue to serve as a strong champion for children.

The Villages is proud to share these successes:

  • In January, The Villages received a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in the Northwest Region to more effectively recruit and train “forever families.”
  • In 2007, The Villages found “forever families” for 68 children.
  • The Villages continues its stay within the one percent of the Child and Family Services Agencies Nationally that is fully accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Services for Families and Children, having recently been reaccredited for three years.
  • The Villages proudly points out Indiana’s communities’ continuing dedication to enriching children’s lives. Organizations and individuals alike have worked hard to bring hand sewn baby blankets, nearly 50,000 gently used books, and brand new backpacks to foster children all over the state.

The faces and lives of The Villages' children and youth represent hope and transformation. On any given day, there is a child or family that has overcome a tremendous obstacle to achieve success that far exceeds state and national standards. Click here for the Special 2007 Outcomes Edition.
