When media interest about the rising need for foster parents was heightened during the holiday season, Jenn Rasey, went above and beyond to respond to interview requests. “She worked well into the evening to make sure each (reporter) was personally telephoned,” said Betsy Kuhn, regional director for The Villages in northeast Indiana.
Rasey took time out of her busy day recently to tell us why she is so committed to The Villages and the families we serve.
What do you most enjoy about your job at The Villages? Being able to make a difference, one child at a time.
What has been your most rewarding experience so far during your job at The Villages? When I was first hired I was an Older Youth Services case manager with mostly probation youth. I recently ran into a youth from one of my very first cases and he told me I really helped him change his outlook on his life. He graduates from Indiana University-Purdue University South Bend this year with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Definitely rewarding!
Please share anything else you love about your experiences at The Villages. I love working for The Villages and have a lot of respect for my coworkers. Our office is small but mighty!
